Mental Game.

This project is an expansion on the Umbra game I made in the first year of my Confetti course.
This game is a Science-fiction themed platformer where you navigate a city, trying to learn about yourself, via navigating through dreamscapes filled with challenges.  Each challenge is themed on psychological issues.

The Gameplay Loop

In the game, you have 10 sessions to complete, which requires you to navigate into a certain amount of dreamscapes in order to advance.   The main gameplay loop goes like so:
1. You start in the Session Room.    You learn how many dreamscapes you have to enter in order to advance.
2. You navigate The City, trying to regain memories. If you get a memory cutscene, you have unlocked a dreamscape.
4. You enter Dreamscapes in the Session Room.  Death or victory restarts you back in Session Room.
6. Beat the Dreamscape.
Beating dreamscapes gives points If you get enough points to get a new ability, you can select one to unlock/or just get one. Backtrack into other levels to get more points.   End at 100%, if you want, or just get to the end as fast as possible, just do the 10 minimum needed.   Talk to the Session Keeper in the Session Room to end your session, and advance.

Creation Plan.

The plan will go like so:
1. Work on Coding, Art assets, or Music.
2. Work on one thing in one of these three sections.  Unless I'm putting down notes, or something else like that.
3. Decide on one thing to do every day... and do it.
4. Work along this pattern until project is done. (Or demonstration level is built.

Simplifying the Gameplay Loop:

In the game, you have 10 sessions to complete, which requires you to navigate into a certain amount of dreamscapes in order to advance.... but should I simplify it even further?  I was thinking about the possibility of you just gaining all dreamscapes in the beginning, and just picking the order in which you do them....  but on further discussions, I was told it was a much nicer idea to HAVE to communicate with people in the city in order to advance.

This IS a game about mental health!

NEW Things added in:

I have added in three new things to the project:
1.   You can adventure through parts of a small city:
2.   You can hop about in a large Hub Room.
3.   and your progress is automatically saved.
I plan next to have a level built up, which you can access in a DreamScape Room, and make a few monsters for the player to avoid, al of which is currently unmade.
